PERSONAL COMMENTARY:
What is it? Well, it is both a foreboding feeling and it’s a nagging, intrusive, & most disturbing thought. Unfortunately, we all know it when we feel it- when it bum-rushes our mind and terrorizes the very core of our being. Simply put, “IT’S DREAD, Mon…DREAD!” Anyone who has ever lived has had to deal with this morbid Emotion-Virus. So, let’s hear how others DESCRIBE fear & HOW THEY deal with it:
WHAT IS FEAR?
1.“Fear is an emotional reaction to a FUTURE EVENT that may or may NOT happen, with you focused on a negative outcome. Fear DEPENDS ON YOU believing in the negative outcome. So, shift your focus from negative to POSITIVE, (Positive Affirmations), you create a whole different experience.” -John Davis
2.“There is no ILLUSION greater than FEAR.”-Lao Tzu
3.” FEAR is an ILLUSION. Something we FABRICATE in our own minds and PRETEND IS REAL…It’s a FAIRY TALE, we tell ourselves that keeps us from doing what we really want.” -Unknown Author
4.”F.E.A.R.: An acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real!” -Unknown Author
5.”Fear- is a LIE!”- Michael Grant
6.”Fears are nothing more than a State of Mind.” -Napoleon Hill
HOW TO DEAL WITH IT?
1.In Al-Anon, the answer to ‘WHAT IF?’ Is: ‘Don’t project! Don’t imagine THE WORST; deal with your problems as they arise. Live one day at a time.’-Alice B (One day At a Time in Al-Anon)
2.“Never trust your fears, they don’t know YOUR STRENGTHS.” — Athena Singh
3.“There is enough strength within you to OVERCOME ANYTHING in life.” -Lailah Gifty Akita
4.“Living in fear is WORSE THAN DEATH. Living in fear, and wasting time is far worse than CESSATION, because then I'm stripping myself of MY LIFE, instead of some outward existence forcing that fate on me.” -Blake Sevann
5. “Bran thought about it. 'Can a man still be brave if he's afraid?' 'That is the ONLY TIME a man can be brave,' his father told him.” ― George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones
SUMMATION:
We have become Prisoners of this Mind-Misidentification & Flawed way of Thinking. This I know about the Mind:
· You are NOT the Mind.
· It is merely a tool (like your body).
· Mind is NOT an entity.
· Mind cannot be satisfied.
· Mind cannot be trusted.
· The Mind lies.
· Become ONE with Mind- & become lost.
· Where there is Mind- there is error.
· The Erroneous Mind will betray you.
· In fact, the Mind cannot regulate itself.
· Hell, the Mind can’t even make up its mind!
P.S. URGENT Self-ADMONITION (to the hypocrite in me): Do NOT allow Mind to be your Reference Point of Consciousness. Do NOT become a MIND-LISTENER. When Mind is on autopilot, leading the way- a False Self (an Imposter) is ALWAYS GENERATED.
B.P.S. ILLUMINATION: Only the truly SANE understand the frustrating Paradox of Mind, whereby the Mind forgets, because it is NOT designed to remember. How so, you may ask: You see, the Mind cannot remember because that would take self-regulation, and the Mind (as the Lower Self) is NOT equipped and designed with that function. The Mind simply does NOT have that capability (it’s merely a tool). Only the Higher Self (ala the Atman within us) can direct the tool. Because of this- the Mind must constantly be RE-MINDED. Truly, Mind needs you (through your Higher Self/Atman) to override its Programming – to direct its steps. Thus, the Self-Utterance, “I am NOT the Mind.”
